Has anyone ever found a supplier of cutters to make Gates polychain sprockets ,,, I have talked to a tool grinder company they can grind one but expensive big time

Grind one by hand with high speed steel being held in a 90 degree fly cutter. Doesn't have to be perfect. That's what I did for a bevel gear out of nylon. If your only making a few it doesn't pay to make a special cutter. Or make a D bit from tool.

Years ago I made some by hand to create joiner plates for the 8mm Polychain belt. We were using long sections of belt for a pocket door system we designed. They were close enough for the prototype unit and the loads the belt would see. In another project (a marine drive system) we made our own Polychain sprockets but that was done on a wire EDM machine.
