I can get you a discount on new DAPRA scraping tools. From my 50 plus years of scraping I find the German / Swiss made Biax scraper works the best, then a Sanvik and then the Anderson. There is also another German made scraper I have photo's of, have to look for them. I also have a PDF files file I can send you of the swiss type style you can make out of flat bar stock you can buy at Home Depot. Scraper length varies to your height, but a trick is to use the same method you use when measuring a shot gun stock. measure from the top of your elbow crook to the bottom of your trigger (index) finger + 5" for a roughing a scraper. + 3" for a finish scraper. I also like a blade that is clamped on so you can have 4 x 2 sides on a 1" x 1" indexable Sanvik Insert. You need to screw on a rubber pad on the end of the file handle too. I may have added more pictures then needed, but I wanted you to see how many people hand scrape. The Photo's are from several of my classes. I show you the rubber pad, the 3", 6" and carbide inserts thatDapra sells and their insert clamp handle. Many show students body pushing oe putting the rubber pad in the elbow crook, the student in the yellow shirt 40 point bump scraping looking through a magnifying glass light, Matt showing a hand scraper he made to telescope out using plasticpipe, Lance pull scraping Rulon and last one a student push scraping it. I teach all these methods in my classes.
