Anyone ever heard of USA Simonds ? :dunno:
 
Vallorbe and Grobet are probably my favourite ones. Pferd, Corradi and Tomé Fèteira do also make superb files. Bahco used to be good, when it was still manufactured in Sweden under the Öberg brand.

I recently scored another set of early production Mexican Nicholson files from ~Y2k-ish timeframe. I've had good luck with them and have plenty of NOS spares. They eventually lose their bite and get rotated to rougher tasks. I'd feel like hell if I wore out a Swiss file. Maybe less so a Pferd, but they're not all made in Germany anymore either. Still nice files.

Just avoid those Pedo files. They're trash that should be sunk to the bottom of the ocean.
 
Surprised no one mentioned Tomé Fèteira.
