I just picked up several clearance items from Travers.
I need to order an arbor for this face mill but I'm not sure what I have here.
It's a 1 1/2" 90 degree square shoulder face mill.
The length is 1.507"
The fastener end size is 1/2" and the bolt ID is .270".
The slot is .260"with a 1.185" od

Thanks for your helpIMG_4281.jpgIMG_4282.jpgIMG_4283.jpg

why not look it up in their catalog and see what it says?

I called Travers. They didn't have a 1/2" arbor with a straight shank.
My mill has a NS30 taper.
This was listed at $137 on blow out for $27. They do have a direct 30 taper mount arbor for $75 plus shipping.
heck, I think i'll make one.
Couldn't be too tough :) cough.

Yes, make one! You beat me to it... Have fun in the shop doing it.:encourage:

Is the cutter a square insert, like a SPG 422 or similar?

Jeff,
We used a lot of that style cutter in my shop because the insert was also used on the lathes. Look into getting some extra screws, The wall is thin between the threads and and hex socket and they fatigue and break easily.

It looks like it takes an FMB style arbor, what is the metric diameter of the counterbore?

Don't ask me how I know this,:),the slightest wobble in the arbor or in the connection to the face mill can make the tool useless.
