The simple answer is "to go for it". Lower voltage will cause much more trouble than higher. It's all in how the transformers are connected. 208 is from the "old days", archaic but still in use some places. 240 is the current equivelent for new installations. As long as your line is over 200 volts and below 260, there's no appreciable effect. Don't worry, be happy. . .
