I picked this up recently. What model is this? I see lots of "model 5" and "model 11", and "model 44", but never "5029A" as listed on the tag. Looks as if the shaft may be replaceable with differing lengths?
I need a belt. I measured and it looks to be a 20.5" length. I see someone else here had a post linking to SOPKO, and they do seem to offer a 20.5" x5/8 belt. Any idea how much it'll cost? I'll call them when I get a chance. [edit: It's $21 for a 20"x5/8" belt"]
I also have an issue with the power cord It was really cracked and falling apart. I carefully removed it, leaving as much as I could (that wasn't crumbling!) sticking out of the motor housing. Recommendations? The previous owner had cobbled an electrical fitting to the motor housing (see pic below) and had wrapped it in a ton of electrical tape. Best to take the motor apart and see about finding a proper fitting for the hole? Is there a trick to removing the brushes? seems like the brush caps are starting to deteriorate (seem like they are softer material - rubber like) and won't unscrew. Not sure if replacements are easily found. Motor works though!
Lastly, any decent sources for grinding wheels? I'd mainly use it for truing up chuck jaws, but could do some OD grinding in the future as well.
