I was tired of raising and lowering my drill press table by hand. It's awkward and heavy. So I made one:

I used a linear actuator attached at two brackets I fabricated out of 5/8" aluminum sheet (it's what I had). I didn't have to modify the DP at all; I used existing holes for the top bracket, the bottom one fits around the column, and the switch is bolted to a plate that is bolted to an existing threaded hole in the front of the table.
I just have to remember to loosen the table lock lever.

That's cool! I thought of doing something similar but made a counterweight system instead
 
I did the same thing a while back, super handy for effortlessly raising the table so the bit is an 1/8 from the surface, it’s bordering on fun.
