You need to dissolve JB Weld from a machine or part. How do you do it?

Some suggestions:

Grinding or filing it off.
Heating to around 600 degrees F might do it.
Isopropanol will soften it over time.
Soaked it in a container of acetone for 4 days, you will be able to remove it. It won'tt "dissolve" the JB weld, but it will soften it to a consistency that he called "old bubble-gum"
"Attack" "solvent may do it.
Pure Butanol, and 96% ethyl alcohol have a good chance of destroying the stuff in about a week.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks,

Nelson

From experience, I'd file or grind, being careful not to heat it too much. Heat and acetone make it soft, but it's like trying to remove gum - lots of work, and you never seem to get it all.

What/why are you taking it off?
