Determining year of manufacture?

I just purchased a Maximat V13 and was curious if anyone knew a way to determine the year of manufacture. I don't see anything on any of the data plates. The serial number is D2PA8A8001.

Found yet? You could try inet, search for "smartiotti", he's a (former) EMCO specialist from Austria and might be able to tell you. He also has a lot of spareparts but also new parts like chucks for EMCO lathes and milling machines.

I contacted Tony at lathes.co.uk but he didn't have any production year information. He does have two V13 manuals available, if you need either. Owner's manual £40.00 http://www.store.lathes.co.uk/print/me351R and parts manual £35.00 http://www.store.lathes.co.uk/print/ME351S . I don't know the USD to Sterling exchange rate today.

Maybe you can contact them to get the specific year for your machine

At any rate, the year of manufacture was 1987. I hope someone finds that useful.........
