Deer... wierd color lately

I have herds of deer come through almost nightly and sometimes during the day. Lately we have been seeing DARK, really DARK brown deer. For miles around here there have been these darker deer. Anyone know what's going on?

I came across a deer crossing the front of my yard one day. She was covered in these, and she had a sack hanging from her front leg... she was so pitiful looking. I never knew what the sack was or all the warts..

The damper the hair, the darker it gets.

it was cold and dry. Sunny..
One of the first that I saw I was close up next to her in the car. Definitely not wet. just darker than normal.

I see these guys all the time. They come through daily... mostly at night, but in the morning they are right up against the house eating... They eat anything... we used to have a bird feeder, but we watched them standup and knock it over for the seed.
I have not seen this dark color. Many others are normal color, but I have seen quite a few dark.. really dark ones.
