Dayton Bench Grinder slow and hot

Be very careful using a vfd on a grinder. The wheels are usually only rated for the motors native rpm. If you accidentally adjust the frequency above 60 Hz the wheels could explode.

OP--you bought the wrong grinder. Resell it and get a single phase unit. A static phase converter will not provide full power.
