Finally got this sweet little machine from my friend. He was reluctant to let her go, and I probably paid too much, but we are both satisfied. We got it out of his shop and into mine yesterday. It was an all day affair... I'm just glad we didn't get rained on.

She's cleaning up really nice too. Everything seems to be in excellent shape.

Still have a lot of cosmoline to clean up and get a VFD... I'm pretty sure my friend had it plugged into a 220v outlet. I was able to get a look at the data plate on the motor after some contortions, a flashlight and a mirror and it professed to being a 3 phase 440v 1hp motor... I have a call in to verify exactly what he was plugged into...

I did see it run, and everything work great. Looking forward to tooling up and making chips!

Oh, it came with this Rusnok Vertical Milling Attachment, what looks like a Bridgeport 3" vise, an X-Y slide table for my drill press and a set of Universal collets in a 2MT holder which will work well with my lathe....

Did he have a Rotary Phase Converter? or possibly 3 phase service to his shop?

That's a real clean, good looking machine. I have the Sheldon model O and really like it. If you ever want to part with the Rusnok Vertical Milling Attachment, let me know. =]

congrats on your new acquisition Coop, looks like you'll have a whole lot of fun with it, especially as you have that vertical head. Great score on the X-Y table too, I can't imagine how anyone copes without one. Even just drilling a few wholes in a line is that much easier. Will you be doing a similar tear down on the mill as you did with your DP or leave and use as is?

Coop that is a sweet little machine I am glad you obtained her.

Congrats on a great machine. I'm also envious of you, not just the mill but the clean shop and floor space.... :))

God bless.

Thanks!

He finally called me back. Yes, he had a phase converter set up, but it was outputting 230v, not 440.

I'm tempted to just get a new motor and VFD like I did with the drill press...

And, no... But, you will be the first to know if for some strange reason I do... LOL...
