The coolant tubing on the lathe that I recently bought is rock hard. What is a good material for replacement? I favor Kool Mist as a flood coolant over soluble coolants because it goes bad much more slowly in my limited experience. I'm also open to suggestions for other coolants.

Tygon is good stuff. It eventually yellows and stiffens, but it takes a long time for the bisphenol-A plasticizer to leach out. It may look like clear vinyl, but it's lab grade, chemically-resistant, dimensionally stable tubing. McMaster has it.

Thanks. I use Tygon for the fuel lines in my gasoline powered RC airplanes. It lasts several years as fuel line. The tubing I've bought is yellow and has TYGON® printed on it; no mistaking it for vinyl.
