Collet chuck questions

What do you want to know ? Looks like a D1-8 mount that will take 2J collets , possibly 22J . Both are expensive . The OP should know this information . :)

D1-3 or D1-4 mount. Ebay seller has no idea although he has offered to measure for me.

D1-4 pins are .625 in diameter and it probably takes 2J or 5C collets . Nice chucks but the 2J collets are expensive .

D8 would indicate it's a D1-8 mount. Yes D1-8 spindles use 6 cam locks but not all D1-6, D1-8, etc accessories will always utilize all 6 pins. Actual jawed chucks most likely yes but if it's something lighter duty there is no benefit to use all 6 cam pins. Quicker to just use 3.

It does look like it would be D1-8 also judging by how large the nose taper register is compared to a D1-3 or D1-4.

Thanks for that. More pictures have arrived via eBay. Pins appear to be larger than the D1-4 pins (5/8” diameter). More later from my desktop.

It is a D1-8 mount according to the the Hardinge Sjogren Speed Collet Chucks document as Darkzero noted, also the spindle nose mount is huge.

I thought only D1-3 and D1-4 chucks had 3 pins. Still learning........
