Chinese Bench Drill Press Rebuild

Guys,

Just watched this video of the rebuild-upgrade of a cheap Chinese bench drill. The YouTube channel is "This Old Tony," and all his videos are well worth watching. But this one shows several operations-- forming a tool on a surface grinder then using it in a shaper to cut rack teeth on a custom made quill-- that offer excellent insights into machining.

Tony is a meticulous craftsman and I look forward to more of his videos.

My DP is exactly the same, too light even to be used as a boat anchor :biggrin:
The video is a good source of improvements… and a way to persuade wifey I need a shaper, other than a lathe and a mill

His video's are Very good. Anyone know the guy ? His dry sense of humor is funny as hell ...I hear maybe a NY accent but I think he mentioned he's not located in the states .
