When I bought my mill and lathe last week, I got a lot of extras. I ended up with two Bridgeport boring heads. One is a #1 and I can't remember the other one. The #1 has a screw in shank and the other doesn't. Both of them of an R8 shank. A friend showed me a Bridgeport catalog from the past that showed different shanks for the #1 head. My question, how do you remove it? Is it right hand threads? I tried to loosen it but no luck. I stopped before I mess up the shank.

My plan is to make a B&S 7 shank and have a usable boring head. I have some other boring heads too but they're 3/4 shank with a flat spot. My guess is that the previous owner once had a bigger mill or liked buying parts he didn't need.
