Bought this Grinder on Ebay....

Nathan,
You dun good!
Stay away from the static converter. It will make that good motor run rough and at 2/3 power. Go with the VFD or RPC. Were it me, I'd go with the VFD so I could slow it down a pit. A VFD of that size will be relatively cheap. Also get some diamond wheels, they are sooo much better than the green wheels.

Thanks very much for the advice, guys!

It is missing the drop pot for the coolant and the miter gauge (listing says "complete" but I don't
want to fight with the seller), which I will price from Baldor.
Someone had given me a VFD to use on my Southbend 10L lathe, and I will likely use that
for the grinder to permit me to alter speeds and such. I don't feel comfortable crafting my
own phase converter without blowing up the house

I'm glad I didn't get ripped off- I have no knowledge about grinders, except that I know
that the HF/Enco grinder that is a copy of the Baldor 500 costs about $190 without the discounts
(there is no HF store near me). I think I'd rather have a Baldor for that price than
have another chinese 'kit' on my hands.

Best,

Nelson
