Was not sure where to post this.

I bought a smithy 3-1 and it came with extras.

One of which is a Bison 4 jaw independent 5” chuck
The other is a 3 post cam lock backing plate.
They do not belong together for one thing
Second issue they dont fit the Smithy with out fabricating a adapter plate.
I will not find the time and the mill on the smithy is just sloppy , so making a plate is not happening.
These Bison chucks get decent money new. These look new and from previous owner never installed cause they dont fit the lathe.
Smithy has a backing plate that is part of the spindle and uses 3 bolts to hold the factory chuck on.

What is a good option for these ?

Do you know what size the cam lock might be?
You will also need to measure the register or ridge.

You can sell here if you meet the criteria (you'd need to check what that might be).
Selling here avoids paying royalties per sale.
When I was an active seller here, I would occasionally make additional $ contributions.

Do you have a 4 jaw independent chuck that fits your machine?

If not you can sell these and buy one. Or, you can get an adapter plate and fit your Bison to it.

Yes, Bison makes great chucks but for a 4 jaw accuracy come from dialing it in so an Asian unit is probably fine.

Selling here requires a membership which is a good investment IMHO.
