Atlas craftsman 12 inch lathe gib

@Selbyrk, since you are a premium member (thank you for supporting the site) you can access the downloads section. There are drawings for Atlas gibs in there, you'll just have to check to see if one fits your 12" model. Otherwise, you can learn enough about how Atlas designed them to scale up and reproduce the part.
Are there gibs both sides?

No. Only one gib in each location. The machine has four gibs, Carriage, Cross Slide, Compound Slide and Tail Stock. The Tail Stock gib is nearly square. The carriage gib is rectangular. The Cross Slide and Compound Slide gibs are both trapezoidal. Do not cheat and make either of those rectangular.

As the machine is a 101.07383, it originally came with all four gibs steel. However, the bean counters may have gotten the upper hand in 1974 as the cross slide and compound slide gibs were changed to plastic. Which was a mistake. So if either of those gibs were replaced after 1974, it will be plastic. Do not use plastic to make the replacement.
