I have a friend that is looking for a part for his 92-E Lathe, series "O", 16". The lathe was manufactured around 1936.

The part is located in the apron and is part of the power feed clutch assembly. You can see in the photos that some of the teeth are chewed up. Part is number 77 (apron worm wheel) on the photo of the apron parts.

Does anyone know of a source where we might find parts for a South Bend 92-E lathe? We'd like to replace this damaged gear.

Thanks...

My 13” 1916 has the same issues
I have not been able to find any
i am in the process of converting a newer style to fit my lathe
i have found the apron parts (2) actually
I need to machine the shaft donned gear and lengthen it to fit
I haven’t found anything machine shop that want to do small jobs

It would've been helpful if you said what size and series it is. Its a 16" series o according to catalogues and machine registry. Only way to get a part is to make a new one or wait for one to pop up on ebay.

Updated original post with series...learning as we go.
