Holy cow. As I recall, we measured the average roughing scrape depth to be around .0002-.0003"

He was a real powerhouse, not a big guy, but he had a scraper about 3 ft long with a big pad on his end that he rested on his hip, held onto the shank with both hands and put his whole body into it, like I said, he wasn't taking dust off like a Biax does, there were literally chips on the floor.
I think Rich King said that he figures about .0005" per pass when roughing.

Golly, think about that.
With a .016” deviation this guy would potentially do up to 32 passes!!
Probably more when finishing.
 
If you want more my planers table is out 0.022” on the ends…
