Anyone using spacer/washer under their QCTP?

I mounted the Dorian BXA on my new PM 1236T. Works GREAT. But when I rotate the post it drags on the compound leaving circular scratches. I never noticed scratches in videos on other machines. Just cosmetic but wondering if I should put a spacer? Thanks.

I never noticed a problem with scratching, I leave my compound set at 30 deg. and do not change the position of the tool post, having said that, I'd look for burrs on the bottom of the tool post and stone them down, same for the scratches.

I haven't seen any evidence of scratches with my QCTP. A washer will add to flexing.

It appears to have been burrs. Took the tool post off and ran it over some 400 grit sandpaper on a flat surface and VIOLA! Seems to smooth it out and no more "scratching".
