Been thinking about it for a few years now, and finally broke down and made a trip to the animal shelter in Craig two weeks ago. When they let me in to look at what they had it was utter chaos. Virtually every dog in there was barking and jumping around. This one was just curled up in the back of her cage looking terrified. Just tugged the old heart strings. She really looked like she could use a friend, and she was the size I was thinking about. They think she is under a year old, and was probably abused. She has gotten very attached, and won't get very far from me, but seems to be getting a little better every day. Her name is L'il Bit. Cheers, Mike

aw, what a cutie! Good on you for giving her a loving home. Our 2nd adoptee was called Little Bit (or Little Bitticus Troubleiticus in full) for a while, before we formally adopted her and gave her a formal name, Pepper.

has a bit of Australian cattle dog in her it looks like.
Good luck. All my dogs have been rescues after the first which my parents brought home. Since then rescues.. We have a lot in common , they rescue me, and I rescue them.

Sweet!
Our next pooch is going to be a rescue. They need a loving home.
Thank you for rescuing her.

Awesome looking dog! Good luck, we know that she has surrounded your heart already!

Good job Mike. She looks exactly like a friend had, a male called Bandit. Great dog with a ton of energy.

The one good thing to come out of Covid is all the shelters here are almost empty. I was used to the chaos and poor dogs just desperate. Now there are more volunteers than dogs! I love rescues even though the process can be hard. You just never know what they were through before. After my last dog passed(7 rescues over 20yrs) I thought I couldn’t take the heartbreak anymore and held out for almost 2mo. My wife finally decided she couldn’t take it anymore and found us a puppy. I had been purposely avoiding puppies but this guy definitely has got me out of the dumps. Even though he chews up everything he’s still the best. I started calling him Chewbacca Fluffypants.
