Just an update. From inspection it looks like both tubes are fried. I’ve come to the quick conclusion that I’m chasing myself down that rabbit hole. I’m going to step back and give this some thought before I go any further. I definitely am not going to buy any tubes. I’m not even sure the transformer is good. This transformer has a date stamp of 1944 on it and it has 12 wires total. Two hot wires and 10 taps. What the heck ? Just too complicated for me at this point. There seems to be a lot of diagrams online of dc power supplies for chucks…so I’m going to read some more and take it from there.
