(Another) Craigslist rant, short this time

For fun, I contacted the seller of the lathe and expressed interest if/when the price drops to low to mid $2000s. He said he wouldn't take less than $3250 else he'd keep it. Okay.
 
A local one I saw recently: why don't you pay me to clear the rocks from my field!
Not as good as the barn dust though :)
Recall reading something about painting a white picket fence is a book by Mark Twain years ago . . .

I have a buddy from the Erector set collecting community who has a pretty good approach. He goes to lots of toy shows/flea markets. When he sees something obviously way over-priced, he says something like "I don't mean to insult you, but based on other similar items, I think your price should be more like $xxx. I'd offer you $xxx." If they don't take it, he replies with, "Thanks for your time, wish you luck on selling your item, here's my contact info if you don't sell it".
