Amazing machinery!

I saw something about that on some TV show once several years ago. I found it fascinating then, and still find it fascinating now!

240 years old, 6000 parts and still working!
what workmanship without the tools we have available now.
And I am glad to have a functional 73 year old lathe.
My hats off to Mesr. Droz

I've been fascinated by it since the first time I saw it. Can you imagine the time and effort that went into that.....even just the designing...forget about the hand work. I wonder how many tens of millions of dollars it would cost to commission someone to build something like that today.....that is assuming you could find someone with the patience, skills, and time to pull it off.

All without CAD! Heck, without a calculator!
I take on an occasional "just to see if I can" project, but I have to believe this guy, while being an undisputed genius, had to be bat-$*!# crazy. That being said, I'd hand over the little bit of sanity I have retained for 1% of that guy's talent.

Absolutely amazing. Inspiring. Humbling.:worship:

Unbelievable! My first time to see this. Truly amazing!!!!
