This started out as a Yugo M77 in 308 with a 20" barrel. I machined a new barrel for it from a stainless steel blank and took the front end components off a M92 pistol, added a few other parts and the unholy spawn is a 308 M77 SBR with a 10.5" barrel. Before you poopoo the concept keep in mind that the 308 spits a 150 grain bullet at 2300 FPS from a 10.5" barrel and has much more energy than a standard 7.62X39 from a full length barrel. Maximum power from a minimum sized package.

To my knowledge its the only one in the world.

Very cool.
Question- My understanding is the AK shoots a 122 grain bullet at 2350 FPS? Yours would be about 25% more energy in the round?

A 168 grain 308 out of a 10" barrel packs 1665 ft lbs of energy

An AK shooting 7.62X39 out of a 16" barrel packs 1496 ft lbs of energy.

Thats 170 ft lbs more for 6 less inches. Nothing to sneeze at

180 grain 308 can get you well into the 1700 ft lb range for over 22 ft lbs difference.
