Good evening all. I'm working at getting my Bridgeport back up and running.
It's been sitting for way too long.
I have the table off to fix the oiling system and got to thinking that it is about the same size as a 13.5 Deere engine head. (I just had 1 off at work the other day.) Any way I talked to the machine shop owner about resurfacing the table on his machine for planing heads.
What do you think
Thanks

Sounds like it might be a good choice depending on how dinged up it might be.
Word of caution. Unlike an engine head wherein you only need to line up manifolds and hoses etc which might allow wider tolerances.
A mill table needs to be aligned with everything else. Table to saddle, saddle to knee, knee to column, column to head, head to spindle, spindle to collet.
A few thousand off on one part seems to multiply.

Cylinder heads are surfaced to much wider tolerances than machine tables.

Thanks for the input. I have decided not to get it done.
Thanks again.
