8520 Quill Handle Attachment

While trying to research and learn about how I will mount my Quill axis DRO to my 8520, I've noticed this image has something that appears to maybe keep from removing the quill handle while using the fine feed wheel. Look at the right side of the attached image. Here there are parts I do not have. Mine seems to match the exploded diagram in the manual. I'm hoping this is a nice upgrade.

Also, the shaft for the fine feed wheel is very long in this image.

Does anyone know what this is or have other images of it?

Mine looks exactly like this with my wheel being just a bit smaller I think.

I guess, pulling out the handle to engage the fine feed and then a bit more to disengage the pin and let it just dangle and freely pivot would let it stay on the machine and not get lost.
