Curious if any one can tell me what this goes to. It came with a bunch of 3at collets but no spindle adapter. I have a ‘40s 10” Atlas timken lathe and it seems to long. The handle I at first thought was wood, but after closer look, it appears to be something else. Thanks in advance for any help.A006BB48-3C2F-4E86-AEC1-9BB29FF5ABA0.jpeg02004B81-CA39-46EA-A23A-C18E1ADB4610.jpeg65C9795C-5058-4CC1-B99B-82F44736307E.jpeg8E89353D-1782-49E2-BEE2-59F7D611AEC0.jpeg

I'm guessing it came from a South Bend 9" lathe. I have a very similar one that measures 1.375 at the center point. It also has "South Bend" stamped into the body. I believe someone modified it to fit my 13" Sheldon MW-56-P

not going to fit a SB 9...........

Here are some pictures of the collet closer tube I have on my Sheldon. Note the "South Bend Lathe" inscription on the handwheel. There's also what I believe to be a part number shown in the second picture.

Looks almost identical to my old Montgomery Wards // Logan lathe, which uses 3AT collets.

I can take measurements later when I get home.

I second the Wards Lathe/ Logan.

Cutting oil is my blood.

Just a photo with a tape for now. Let me know if you want real measurements.

Same exact wood handle, and same fastener style/layout holding it in place as well (not pictured here).

I Have 2 of those draw bars. One has the wood hand wheel and the other has one made of Bakelite. Both have the same steel mounting plate on the hand wheels and used 3AT collets. The over-all length of the one with the Bakelite wheel had been lengthened to 15". The first 3 & 1/8" of the tube, at the wheel end is .792" and the rest of it is .750". The tube OD`s may have been larger at one time. The .750" OD is perfect for my South Bend Junior lathe. With the .792" turned down to .750", a new tip to fit my 3C collets and change the length, I will be good to go.

The one with the wooden hand wheel, was modified by me to add 3C collets to my HF 7 by 10 mini lathe. ------ John
