Well, the diamond plate pulley wasn't the best so I made one out of steel instead.
I used a piece of heavy wall pipe and three pieces of 9/16 inch rod to make up
a weldment. I used the hub from the diamond plate pulley since it was already
bored to 22 millimeters and had the keyway hand filed into it. I removed the shaft
that the pulley fits into and used that in the lathe to center the work. That way there
was little chance it would not run true. It's a big improvement as far as a smooth
running so happy about that.
Careful centering and work holding is essential in this stage of the job. I used some 3/32 7018 to
weld it together.
A little more finishing work on the pulley and a coat of paint and I can call it done.
