I bought a bunch of #3 morse taper shank drill bits at an auction. In the box was a sleeve marked 1-1/8" RCH-#3MT. What does RCH stand for? What is this sleeve used for?
Thanks
Martin

If it was marked with a pencil it might cut a little oversize maybe. :big grin:

Kind of hard to tell from the picture what the ID of the shank looks like. Used to be common to have shanks installed in production machines with interchangeable tooling when a tool became dull, give the cutting tool a twist and it would pop out and a new one put in. Special counterbores come to mind, but the tooling could be drill bits, counterbores, etc. But you could almost bet, the tooling was special. Ken
