internal threading tooling

I use the mesa tools thay are great and the price is right.

I got one of those too. It's great but be aware that it will only go down to 11tpi because the insert is so small.
I found that out the hard way, didn't read the description. I bought it along with some colletts to make a collet chuck for my lathe, 8TPI. NO GO.
I "wasted" my money on it considering the reason why I bought it, but it has come in handy several times since so I'll call it a wash.

Come to think of it, that collet chuck project is still stagnating. I think I'll use my new bar (like that pictured in post #2) for the threading.
I say "new," but I've had it a while. I have not experienced any slipping of the bit in the bar. But I also tighten the little screw to the point of worry.
Mine came from KBC tool

The Shars tool I have uses AG60-IR inserts, and will cut 8 TPI. It is a 3/4" boring bar, so not much good for anything less than 7/8" or 1" inside diameter. I have smaller cutters for those.
