[How do I?] Any Suggestion For Getting Out A Stuck Woodruff Key???

When you go back together with the woodruff key, lay it flat on a file and file it smooth to remove burrs. Sometime, just this little bit of filing will let the woodruff key slip right in the groove without force. And make it a lot easier to remove in the future.

Support the underside of the shaft with a block of metal. Then hit on one end of the key to rock it.

Honestly never have tried the diagonals for removal, that will be my first method of attack and it is soaking in penetration fluid.

i agree use punch on the opposite end, tap down on it and it will come up on your end, than use your side cutters to remove it. File the marks off it and reuse it, not filing to much because you want it tight.

update rear woodruff key tap and it rocks front to back, pulled out with end nippers ok good, front near handle, end nipper good grip rock pull up tap tool no go, now has a slight tapper no biggy, tapped as well no go heated JUST in case some lock-tite was used, still stuck, put some penetrant on and tapp with ball peen and let sit for now. next thoughts are to slot and tack a plate on and over the key, if no go thinking of Dremel down the center and eat it away. At least this is a item with low torque on the piece. The front one that came out is the one that will drive the X axis when the power drive is installed, so that is good.

Slide Hammer with Attached Vice Grip, once you have one you will find a million uses. Super ease to make buy the super cheap HF slide hammer and modify.

I have made that tool and I will try that even though the vice grip does not hold well on the key any longer sorta of tapered after previous attempts.
