Quill lock handle

Just received a new quill lock handle from Mataco, off of eBay, and it has 1/4-28 threads. My machine has 1/4-20 threads. Is it just my machine or did they make this part in two different pitches?

A description of your machine would help lots. Model perhaps
Pictures are good too because plenty of times same machine is marketed under different names

Sorry about that. It's a Bridgeport J-head, made in the sixties.
