I’ve never bothered with genuine way oil for my tiny lathe. Now that LMS has it in small bottles I’m getting some. What other jobs around the house and garage might it be used for?
You use bar oil on the ways? Hadn't thought of that.Chainsaw bar oil. In fact, bar oil is a cheaper alternative.
Any brand/specific recommendations? Here in Minnesota there is winter and summer weight bar oil. I'm not a logger, perhaps its everywhere.
Summer is a bit thicker. It can really make a difference on snugging up worn ways....
Beware there is also synthetic bar/chain oil.

I use it all the time on the ways. It’s got a “tackifier” in it that makes it mostly stay where you put it.You use bar oil on the ways? Hadn't thought of that.
I just buy whatever is on the shelf at the LHWS….Any brand/specific recommendations?
No, I actually use reclaimed way oil in my chainsaw. You use bar oil on the ways? Hadn't thought of that.
