So, I need to rewire my lathe for 110. I know the eventual solution a 3 phase 220v setup with VFD. Not happening right now. I’ve got a 125v 20a outlet I’ll be using for now. The drum switch after opening it up, is toast. What reversing drum switch do I need for the 110v setup? I’ve been told some don’t cut power and will burn up the motor in the off position? Any guidance on the situation would be much appreciated. Looking through wiring diagrams and forum posts for the last 2 days may have confused me more than helped.

I used this on mine and it works just fine....
As for wiring, I can't help as I let the the shop electrician do t for me...Company perks:<)

You can use either of these two common types: (edit: with two different wiring configurations)
First one is similar to the RS-1A above- I call it "hockey stick" type
Second one is used for reversing 3-phase motors but can be used for single phase
Whoever told you the motor would burn up when stopped is incorrect. Actually, a beam of energy will come out and turn you into a crawdad
