which manufacturer was this?

Hi

I just bought this milling machine but Ive no idea what manufacturer it is.

Have any of you guys seen such a machine or know what the emblem stands for?
Ive tried searching E&W but couldnt find anything.

Some clues, it is most likely german since the switchbox has german on/off labels and the only stamped plate i found was for the speed settings which was also in german.
Its also got flat belts so quite old i guess.




any ideas?

Hi Johannes,

I did not recognize it, however, a quick look at the manufacturers listed under "E" over at www.lathes.co.uk shows this lathe with a similar manufacturers mark:

However it doesn't have the "&" character......I'll keep looking....

EDIT: two misses there, it appears they made only lathes, and were in England......not the right one....

I had also found that one you mentioned on lathes.co.uk.
I also noticed that there are a small number of German manufacturers that are not listed on there. So it could be a tough search...
