Got around to finally finishing the shaft for my wheel balancer. I extended the length by 2.5 inches to use a different centering accessory. This is 4140 hardened turned to 40mm OD. There are internal threads on one end of m33x2.0 at a depth of 1.00. The shaft is centered bored on the same end to 3.5 in with a dia of 25mm. The threads on the outside of the shaft at metric ACME threads with a hand ground tool for 30 degrees. The TPI is 4.
This was a great learning experience especially with cutting metric threads on an inch lead screw and having to keep the half nut engaged at all time. Yes. Learned the hard way. It was a fun and great learning project that looks simple but required some thought.
Hope you all like it.
