What's this behind the quill lock on my PM-835S?

If it's in the manual, I missed it. What is this little rod behind the quill lock? It has a set screw to adjust up and down... maybe a depth stop or a place to attach an indicator? Thanks!

Yep, it's for whatever you might find it useful for. Indicator, mist nozzle, small light....

On my BP clone, I mount an indicator there at times via a Noga arm. I also mount my coolant-spray block off an arm in the same place.

I use mine for a for my Noga Coolant Block/Hose.
