What would these be used for?

I acquired an old machinists box. I have a few questions.
1st question. There is a complete set of what looks like transfer punches? They are shop made from Allen screws and each one is mounted in a piece of brass to keep them all together. Any idea what they would be for?
2 nd question. There is also a set of thread measuring triangles. I have a set of thread measuring wires. How do these work?
Thanks
Cheers
Martin

Transfer screws, for marking hole locations from tapped holes on one part to blank locations on another part. Thread triangles for measuring screw threads, more or less the same process as thread wires, but one less part to hold onto, some math to do with their use; I had a set, have not seen them for a while, since I bought thread mikes, not needed any more. You insert them into opposite threads and measure them, read the directions!

Note that the triangles have different widths of flats on the crests of the vees, they work with different ranges of pitches of threads of the national form, which have a flat at the root of the thread.

The transfer screws in photo 3 appear to be shop made. Commercial transfer screws have a hex surrounding the point. These have a screwdriver slot.

Yes, for sure, they are shop made, I have made them that way many times, the maker of the commercial ones (Heimann) also makes another type, where the body is larger than the hole with a large hex on its OD and a sharp ring cut in the face in addition to the point that will scribe a ring Around the center point.

I believe Heimann went out of business. Damn.
