What thread pitch-size is this?

I want to replace the two screws in this sliding parallel.
My thread gage matches to .45. (I think)
German made tooling with imperial size engraved on the side.
Is .45 a metric reference? McMaster does have .45 metric machine screws.
Maybe it's 4-48 Imperial?
It's so darn small I'm just not sure.
My local Ace hardware didn't have anything this small. I have a 5-40 tap, it's too big.
What do you think?

I'm betting it's a metric thread. What is the major diameter?
M2.2 and M2.5 are both .45 pitch

With a micrometer I measure .099"
That's 2.514 millimeter.

I'd bet money on it, at least a couple of bucks.
Assuming you need replacement screws, you'll probably have to make them. I wouldn't suggest single-pointing.

I found some stainless steel low profile allen cap screws at McMaster, should be here tomorrow.
A bit long, I'll just surface grind to fit once installed.
