Ran across this on Facebook Marketplace. Seller claims that it's for a South Bend 9 or 10K.
I'm thinking it's not...

Could be, but it is different than the South Bend countershaft units that I have seen.

Likewise, I've scoured the South Bend catalogues I have and can't find anything that looks like that.

This is what the southbend version looks like.......20201105_174242.jpg20201105_130724.jpg
I will post more tomorrow when I am at the shop.
The Southbend V belt unit looks just like the flat belt style but slightly larger.

The first stage belt, with a v pulley on the motor and a flat large pulley is kinda a South Bend trademark. They made lathes for over 80 years, gotta be a lot of subtle variations.

I like the zerc fittings on that unit. Wonder if it left SB like that, probably not.
My 9C is 83 yrs old, countershaft has no perceptible play in it.
I guess for me, that would be a cure for a problem that doesn’t exhist.

Those would be ZERK fittings.
