These came in a box with my lathe. Look like automotive tie rod splitters but the taper is wrong.
Thanks
Aaron

Without knowing the distance between the prongs, it looks like it was used to remove the tailstock chuck.

If there is a manufacturer and part number on it, a Google search might show something.

It's a forged (not a forgery) clamp. the pin on the end can either be put in a hole in the side of a part/casting, or positioned on top. The slot can be slipped over a bolt to be secured to the table or some other fixture.

The gap is 21/32 and it is 6 3/4" total length. I don't think it will fit over a # 3 morse

You see what I mean about the angle on the tips. It is to blunt to be a splitter or drift. See pics

Says Vulcan # 66. Forged in USA

Yes, I think Daryl and Tom are right. I can see that this could come in handy.
Thanks
Aaron

It's a heavy duty tuning fork....:(

Daryl and Tom are correct. It is a hold down clamp from the old days. I say that, people still use them today! Used to have a couple left over from dad's shop here some where.
