I own a Van Norman #12 mill. I have not yet put it back together, but am looking at tooling for it. I saw on Ebay, the following ad:

"NEW 5 PC 5V C SHELL MILL HOLDER SET FOR VAN NORMAN MILL"


Dumb questions:

1- What is a "shell mill" and specifically, what is a 5V shell mill
2- What is a "shell mill holder set"?

Is this something I would need to perform the usual operations on my mill?

the v5 refers to the mounting taper of your machine if I'm not mistaken that should fit a model 12
