Where should I look for books or online information on basic lathe use? I really mean basic, I have lots of wood working tools I use and I have welded and fabricated stuff for over 40 years, but machining is new for me and I can use all the help I can get.
Thanks Frank

Probably the best single source I've seen is the booklet by South Bend Lathes - "How to Run a Lathe". If you like, I have included a link for the download. Just "click" on the title. It's a little large at 155M but I'm hosting it off my server and I digitized it so that I know it's safe to download. This version is, I believe, from the '50s but the information is timeless.

Hope this helps,

-Ron
