I have a Valenite LTML-8(4T03) and Valenite SDT-50(5-72517-04)/.490 DIA. What I do not have are the inserts to fit these toolholders. Have been looking at tooling catalogs trying to figure out which inserts fit. Anyone out there help me with insert part #'s for these holders?

I'd just contact Valenite themselves and ask http://www.walter-tools.com/ click contacts, or products if you want to look for yourself.
I haven't talked with them but usually the manufacturer will bend over backwards to help.

I used to have a copy of the tech book that specifies how to select different bits based on material and tool geometry. I will look and see if I can find it and pass it on to you. May take me a short while, but I'll let ya know either way. Sorry for the delay, but I think I found the file that will help you understand the numbering system and help you select the right bit for your material.
