What Did You Buy Today?

I didn't buy it today , rather dug it up from the basement . A little DotCo air grinder . I paid $100 for it way back when in the late 70s when starting out and thought it was damn expensive back then . I did get to use it prototyping the first artificial heart pumps for John Hopkins . Mounted in the CNC lathe I ran a multiple variable pitch lead grooves into Delrin . Pretty cool little job that made the company some big bucks . But , back to the point . $100 back in the late 70s , now ..........................
As a Hoppie graduate, class of 1978, it's Johns Hopkins. More accurately, it's The Johns Hopkins University. Strangely enough, I live in the former residence of John Hopkins, built in 1853. He was a local grocer.

Papar wait!

In the late 60’s we lived in an apartment st 901 W. University Pkwy (near the Roland Park Tower), and I walked to Poly. My parents (and grandparents, apparently) were followers of Hopkins Lacrosse.

However, I spent the early part of the 70’s in Charlottesville, watching the Champions (and the occasional Polo Match).

Did you go to Poly ? If so , did you have a shop teacher named Piersol by any chance ?
LOL , I got 5 parking tickets down at JHU from the daughters basketball games . An empty parking lot 7 o'clock at night . I tore them up as usual .

@ChazzC

Where I am from, amongst the common kids, "Polo Match" meant something entirely different than people riding horses and using a big stick to hit a small ball in front of the "yah-yah" crowd!

How much did you drink over the Holidays? You knew I went to Poly – I spoke at Engineers' Week before stopping by your Emporium back in February. And you asked me about Mr. Piersol, too, back in January '23: never knew any Piersol.
