What are these?

New to the forum and to the trade as well, also preparing to start school to become a Machinist. I was given these from a friend whom didn't know what they were also, but they look like milling bits of some sort or I could be completely wrong. There isn't any identifying markers or anything written on them, I have a hand full of them in different types and sizes.

They look like hand reamers (relatively short shanks). Check the shanks for possibly faint markings that indicate the finished hole size.

Those look like chucking reamers, hand reamers usually have a square on one end kinda like a tap does....

I think someone has whittled on the shanks a bit, the two that are visible are pretty uneven.

They are in fact machine (chucking) reamers, the proof is in the chamfered end.

Those are useful tools, clean them up and give them a light coat of oil. Use a micrometer or caliper to determine the sizes. They are used to finish holes to precise diameters and a high degree of smoothness. You might want to find some plastic tubes to store them in
