What are these for?

Hi...

I recently purchased this English Verdict dial test indicator at a machine auction, along with a bunch of other DIs. (Including a .0001" DI that has no second "clock" to show how many times the main needle has rotated! But that's a different story...) I can't figure out what the accessories are for. The rectangular block looks like it might mount somewhere, and the DTI mount to the protrusion. The other accessory is a round shaft with a collet on the end, but the collet is smaller than any of the fittings on the DTI.

Anyone have any thoughts on these?

Thanks,
Charlie

Those two pieces are used with the indicator, usually to mount it to your toolpost.

Hi, Flutedchamber,

Ah, I can see now how the rectangular piece mounts in the toolpost and its round shaft goes through the mounting hole on the side of the DTI. What I don't see is how the collet at the end of the round accessory connects to anything. It's too small to mount the shaft at the top of the DTI itself.

Thanks,
Charlie
